He was a mainstay of Irish digital sports outlet The42, where his long-form feature-writing became appointment reading for many. His 2019 story on the revolutionary but unheralded Anne O’Brien, Ireland’s first professional women’s soccer player in the early 1970s, won Investec’s inaugural 20x20 Media Award, which recognized and rewarded excellence in Irish journalism focused on women in sport.
