About Eoin
Born and raised in Cork City, Eoin is inching closer to two decades of experience working at the highest level of sports media in Europe and North America.
Starting out as a TV sports researcher with Ireland’s national broadcaster RTÉ while still in university, he went on to report and produce extensively for radio and television.
Moving to North America in late 2009, he provided acclaimed coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver for both RTE and the BBC. In June of that year, he landed a coveted hosting role with Fox Sports, as an anchor for the TV network’s flagship soccer show, Fox Soccer Report, which broadcasted nightly across the USA, Canada and the Caribbean to over 40 million people.
He has written about sport for a range of outlets including The Guardian, The Athletic and The Irish Examiner while he served as a soccer columnist for Yahoo Canada between 2014 and 2016. He has contributed frequent essays to revered soccer magazine Eight By Eight and was a long-time and award-winning feature writer for highly-regarded Irish sports website The42.
Eoin released his first feature-length sports documentary, 'Celtic Soul' - which he created, executive-produced and starred in alongside his friend Jay Baruchel - to critical acclaim in late-2016.
His first book, Keane: Origins, was released in 2020 and became an immediate bestseller in Ireland. That same year, he joined Canadian Premier League club York United FC as Director Of Content, before taking on an expanded portfolio the following year.
He lives in Toronto with his wife and two children.
